The results are in and to say they exceeded our expectations is an understatement! With over 6800 entries from over 1000 wineries, our 2014 Syrah, Amador scooped Best of Class in its category. For a small urban winery like us, it doesn't get much better than winning such an accolade in such a prestigious wine competition as this!
Here's what longtime SFCWC judge, wine columnist and food critic, Mike Dunne had to say about our winning wine:
"Flying Suitcase 2014 Amador County Syrah: Syrah often is called substantial for its customary bulk and muscle, not so often "seductive." That fits here, however, for a syrah uncommon in lilting layering, from its smoky and fruity bouquet to its suggestions of berries, leather and anise on the palate. Both tannins and oak have been astutely modulated."
